Quietly waiting in the fields around my Norfolk home, I watched a roe deer at dusk. It was feeding on leftover wheat when it sensed my presence. The deer froze, standing tall, and forcefully stamped its front hooves—a classic display of alarm, before bounding away and dissappearing from view.
