Swans of Baconsthorpe Castle: A Photographic Series

Baconsthorpe Castle, Norfolk.

Every December for years, I’ve made a quiet pilgrimage back to Baconsthorpe Castle. After a long closure, returning to the 15th-century moat felt like catching up with old friends. There’s something deeply calming about watching the swans glide across the water here, past walls that have stood for six hundred years. They carry a quiet grace that almost feels like an echo of the people who walked these grounds centuries ago. It’s easily one of my favorite annual rituals as a photographer.
